”One thing I always think during Caribbean Beat, how it has shifted my thinking about my body, which I believe I have shared with you is this:

  • My curves have a purpose, my body as it is right now can move beautifully.

Other exercise programs I have tried have made me feel like my curves or my body is in the way and focus on how it could be better instead of loving my body as it is. I feel like this way I can work towards getting healthier and stronger with less shame and more enjoyment in the now.”

“I've always been more focused on my fear of judgment from others that I have rarely expressed myself fully or really enjoyed dancing in public. Caribbean Beat and the Flo Sessions bring me happiness because I love to dance and enjoy the music, but more importantly, you create an environment where I am more present, I'm having more fun and I'm accepting myself more than I ever have while dancing publicly . Your accepting attitude of "Movement is Healing" shifted my perspective from dance is competitive and calculated to dance is a form of expression and no matter what that expression looks like it is healing and good. I learned this chiefly through your teaching style and how you dance. It is obvious you are a living example of what you preach. You stay present when you dance and genuinely enjoy it. When I've asked for your help on a step, you didnt try to make me do it exactly like you. You allowed for my own styling. You encourage us to move however we feel, without judgment. I'm learning to trust my body and emotions, and to love myself despite acceptance from others. The Flo sessions specifically allow me to express vulnerability and insecurity in a supportive environment. It was reassuring to know that others feel the same way about themselves that I do about myself, and that we all need to see ourselves through the positive lens of those who love and cherish us most. In summary, the main thing Caribbean Beat and Flo Sessions has taught me is what self love looks and feels like.”

”Throughout the years each and every encounter I have had with Monique has been empowering and has inspired growth; and Flo Theory is no exception. Flo Theory will truly be a cultivator for your life, by encouraging you to consciously better yourself beginning with health, wellness and fitness. During coaching with Monique, I have consistently experienced changes in myself that I couldn't obtain on my own. Flo Theory will encourage you to step out of your comfort zone, while reminding you opportunity is waiting on the other side. Monique will not only give you the tools, but will also help to implement those tools throughout your journey!”

One step at a time.. When I first started with Monique I was more focused on my weight then my underlying issues that were the cause of my weight gain. By setting up a foundation and talking with Monique about how to deal with those issues, I have more confidence and motivation to get started and push myself to work on me and my health. I’m still a work in progress but I’m getting there one step at a time. Thanks Monique ️

Through finding my flow, I found myself. Thank you Monique for facilitating fun choreography and creating a safe space to dance, feel, and share. I appreciate how you begin each session with a meditation to let go of fear and judgement. When I’m dancing my worries dissipate and all I hear is the beat of a great song, her playlists are always top notch! Dialoging with other women about the experience through different lenses is a way to connect and deeper understand yourself. Being vulnerable feels inspiring. Take the time to transform yourself, movement is healing in Flo Theory.
